October 31 is Halloween in the United States of America! It’s not actually a holiday. You still have to go to work or school!

Halloween is a cultural celebration that was brought over from Europe in colonial times. The traditions have stayed and changed into modern-day celebrations including fun activities like wearing costumes and having parties.

On Halloween, you’ll find children going trick-or-treating. I explain more about that in the lesson. Adults often celebrate too with their own parties. Maybe at your office you will celebrate Halloween, depending on where you work!
